কালিয়াচক,১লা সেপ্টেম্বরঃ ১৮৭৫ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত ঐতিহাসিক কালিয়াচক থানার ১৫০ বছর পূর্তি ও পুলিশ দিবস পালিত হলো নানান আয়োজনের মধ্য দিয়ে। সোমবার সকাল থেকে থানা প্রাঙ্গণ সাজসজ্জায় মুখরিত হয়। এলাকার মানুষ, জনপ্রতিনিধি, শিক্ষাবিদ, সমাজসেবী ও ছাত্রছাত্রীদের উপস্থিতিতে দিনটি রূপ নেয় উৎসবে।
অনুষ্ঠানের সূচনা হয় প্রদীপ প্রজ্জ্বলনের মাধ্যমে। উদ্বোধন করেন মালদা জেলা পুলিশ সুপার প্রদীপ কুমার যাদব। উপস্থিত ছিলেন অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার সম্ভব জৈইন, কালিয়াচক এসডিপিও ফাইজাল রেজা, কালিয়াচক কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ নাজিবুর রহমান, জেলা পরিষদের বন ও ভূমি কর্মাধ্যক্ষ আব্দুর রাহমান, পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির সভাপতি সহ অন্যান্য জনপ্রতিনিধি ও বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিবর্গ।
থানার ১৫০ বছরের দীর্ঘ পথচলার স্মৃতিকে ধরে রাখতে কেক কেটে দিনটিকে বিশেষভাবে স্মরণীয় করে রাখা হয়। এরপর একে একে শুরু হয় সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান। কবিতা পাঠ, গান ও নৃত্য পরিবেশনে জমে ওঠে অনুষ্ঠান মঞ্চ। স্থানীয় শিল্পীদের পাশাপাশি ছাত্রছাত্রীদের অংশগ্রহণে দর্শকদের উচ্ছ্বাস চোখে পড়ার মতো ছিল।
শুধু বিনোদন নয়, শিক্ষার ক্ষেত্রেও এই দিনে বিশেষ উদ্যোগ দেখা যায়। থানার পক্ষ থেকে মাধ্যমিক ও উচ্চমাধ্যমিকে কৃতিত্ব অর্জনকারী কালিয়াচক এলাকার মেধাবী ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সংবর্ধনা দেওয়া হয়। তাদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয় মেমেন্ট। পাশাপাশি এলাকার ক্রীড়া চর্চাকে আরও এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে বিভিন্ন ক্লাবের হাতে ফুটবল তুলে দেন অতিথিরা।
দিনের অন্যতম আকর্ষণ ছিল সচেতনতামূলক কর্মসূচি। ‘সেভ ড্রাইভ, সেভ লাইফ’ স্লোগানকে সামনে রেখে আয়োজিত হয় পদযাত্রা। কালিয়াচক থানা থেকে শুরু হয়ে বালিয়াডাঙ্গা মোড় পর্যন্ত এই সচেতনতামূলক মিছিলে অংশ নেন পুলিশকর্মী, অতিথি ও সাধারণ মানুষ। পথচারীদের মধ্যে সচেতনতার বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়াই ছিল এই পদযাত্রার মূল লক্ষ্য।
অনুষ্ঠানে বক্তারা থানার ঐতিহ্য ও পুলিশের জনসেবামূলক কর্মকাণ্ডের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরেন। জেলা পুলিশ সুপার প্রদীপ কুমার যাদব বলেন, “কালিয়াচক থানার ১৫০ বছরের যাত্রা এক ঐতিহাসিক অধ্যায়। শুধু আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষা নয়, সমাজের নানা ক্ষেত্রে পুলিশ মানুষের পাশে থেকেছে এবং ভবিষ্যতেও থাকবে।”
অনুষ্ঠানকে ঘিরে এলাকায় উৎসবমুখর পরিবেশ লক্ষ্য করা যায়। স্থানীয় বাসিন্দা আনা রুল হক জানান, থানার ইতিহাসের সঙ্গে তাদের আবেগ জড়িয়ে আছে। তাই এমন একটি দিন উদযাপন করতে পেরে তারা গর্বিত।
