দলের সূত্রে খবর, অধিকাংশ ব্লকে সভাপতি পরিবর্তন হলেও কালিয়াচক–১ নম্বর ব্লকে সারিউল শেখকেই দায়িত্বে বহাল রাখল রাজ্য নেতৃত্ব। রাজনৈতিক মহলের মতে, এটি আগে থেকেই অনুমেয় ছিল। কারণ বিগত কয়েক বছর ধরে তিনি সংগঠনকে শক্ত হাতে সামলাচ্ছেন এবং ব্লকের প্রতিটি অঞ্চলে সক্রিয়ভাবে দলের কাজ এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছেন।
অভ্যন্তরীণ টানাপোড়েন উপেক্ষাঃ
দলীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে, তাঁকে সরানোর জন্য কিছু জনপ্রতিনিধি ও স্থানীয় নেতৃত্ব চেষ্টা চালালেও ক্যামাক স্ট্রিট সেদিকে কান দেয়নি। বরং জেলা ও ব্লকের বাস্তব পরিস্থিতি বিচার করে সারিউলের ওপর আস্থা রাখল নেতৃত্ব।

রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষকদের মতে, গত লোকসভা নির্বাচনের সময় কালিয়াচককে কেন্দ্র করে তৈরি হওয়া বিতর্কই অনেকাংশে সারিউল শেখের অবস্থানকে মজবুত করে। জানা যায়, তখন এক জনপ্রতিনিধির কারণে জনসভায় প্রকাশ্যে ক্ষমা চাইতে হয়েছিল মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়কে। সেই সময় থেকেই ব্লকের ১৪টি অঞ্চলে সংগঠনের ভার নিজের কাঁধে তুলে নেন সারিউল শেখ এবং তা দক্ষতার সঙ্গে সামলান।
