মিলন সরকার, মুর্শিদাবাদ, ফরাক্কাঃ অতিবৃষ্টির জেরে রেললাইনের একাংশ বসে যাওয়ায় ব্যাহত ট্রেন চলাচল। বৃহস্পতিবার নিউ ফরাক্কা স্টেশন সংলগ্ন এলাকায় আপ লাইনে ধস নামার পর থেকেই রেল পরিষেবায় বিঘ্ন ঘটে। পরিস্থিতি খতিয়ে দেখতে শুক্রবার দুপুরে ঘটনাস্থলে যান উত্তর মালদার বিজেপি সাংসদ খগেন মুর্মু। রেলের আধিকারিক ও ইঞ্জিনিয়ারদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার পর তাঁর দাবি, দ্রুত মেরামতির কাজ চলছে এবং শুক্রবার রাত ১২টার মধ্যে পরিষেবা স্বাভাবিক করার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করা হচ্ছে।
জানা গিয়েছে, বৃহস্পতিবার প্রবল বৃষ্টির পর নিউ ফরাক্কা স্টেশন সংলগ্ন এলাকায় আপ রেললাইনের একটি অংশ বসে যায়। বিষয়টি নজরে আসার পর নিরাপত্তার স্বার্থে ট্রেন চলাচলে নিয়ন্ত্রণ জারি করা হয়। কয়েকটি ট্রেন বাতিল এবং একাধিক ট্রেনের রুট পরিবর্তন করা হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন সাংসদ। তাঁর বক্তব্য, দ্রুত পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনার ফলে সম্ভাব্য বড় দুর্ঘটনা এড়ানো সম্ভব হয়েছে।
শুক্রবার ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে রেলের আধিকারিক ও ইঞ্জিনিয়ারদের সঙ্গে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন খগেন মুর্মু। পরিদর্শনের পর তিনি বলেন, অতিবৃষ্টির কারণে রেললাইনের একটি অংশ বসে গিয়েছে। রেলের কর্মী ও ইঞ্জিনিয়াররা দ্রুততার সঙ্গে মেরামতির কাজ করছেন। রাত ১২টার মধ্যে কাজ শেষ করে ট্রেন চলাচল স্বাভাবিক করার লক্ষ্য রয়েছে বলেও জানান তিনি।
ট্রেন বাতিল ও রুট পরিবর্তনের বিষয়ে সাংসদ বলেন, যাত্রীদের নিরাপত্তার কথা মাথায় রেখেই রেলের পক্ষ থেকে এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। পরিস্থিতির কারণে তাঁকেও সড়কপথে ফরাক্কায় আসতে হয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।
এদিকে রেল পরিষেবা ব্যাহত হওয়ায় মালদায় আয়োজিত তিন দিনের ‘বিকশিত ভারত, বিকশিত পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, বিকশিত মালদা’ মেলাতেও এর প্রভাব পড়েছে বলে দাবি সাংসদের। তাঁর দাবি, ট্রেন পরিষেবা ব্যাহত হওয়ায় মেলার উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিধানসভার অধ্যক্ষ রথীন বোস উপস্থিত হতে পারেননি। তবে এই বক্তব্যের স্বাধীন যাচাই এই প্রতিবেদনের পরিধির মধ্যে করা হয়নি।

রেল পরিষেবা ব্যাহত হয়ে সমস্যায় পড়া যাত্রীদের পাশে থাকার আশ্বাসও দিয়েছেন সাংসদ। তাঁর দাবি, বিজেপির পক্ষ থেকে প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী আটকে পড়া যাত্রীদের শুকনো ও তৈরি খাবার দেওয়ার উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হবে।
